Bite the wax tadpole

Ahh... the old trick of translating something from English to Chinese and back to English again. Does it ever get old?

I like to take headlines from newspapers and put them through Google Translate this way. It is especially amusing because headlines are practically their own dialect, and it is always a hoot poking fun at a computer program that has probably done more for the advancement of humanity than I ever will.

New York Times - July 17, 2008

Going in:

“CBS Chiefs to Testify in Rather Suit”

Coming out:

"CBS Competent to Testify, Not Suit"

--------------------------------------------

So, does this mean that there is a suit that would like to testify but it can't, or is it simply trying to point out that CBS is not a qualified haberdasher?
